Drumragh U16 boys were beaten by an impressive Fintona side in the championship semi-final last Wednesday.

Drumragh got off to a good start with an early goal from Kian Murphy after a brilliant run from Ben Monk.

Fintona replied to that with a good point from play and then took the lead with a goal.

A foul on Ben Monk allowed Niall McCarney to bring the sides level again and the next four points were shared, Cormac Dolan and Niall McCarney from distance on target for Drumragh.

However, Fintona took over in the 10 minutes after the first water break hitting 2-5 without reply to put themselves in a really commanding position.

Kian Murphy (2) and Aaron Lynch pointed for Drumragh but Fintona enjoyed a nine-point lead at half-time.

Eoin Coyle lined out at centre forward for Drumragh U16s on Wednesday

The first three scores of the second half went to Drumragh with frees from Kian Murphy (2) and Niall McCarney. They could have been closer too but the Fintona goalkeeper made a number of excellent saves.

Fintona kicked a couple of good points from play to take firm control of the game. Drumragh kept going to the end and had further scores from Kian Murphy (2), Niall McCarney (2) and Aaron Lynch. But Fintona were always able to keep a distance between the sides and they advanced to the championship final
