2022 marks the Golden Jubilee of our wonderful GAA club Droim Ratha Na Sarseil CLG.

The first chairman Paddy Starrs was elected on January 16, 1972 at the inaugural AGM in Clanabogan Hall, and one particular proud hallmark is the continued prominent involvement of several founding families.

The club is built on community, not only representing their families, but also the parish. These are the foundations from which club teams grow, Gaelic Start through to senior, 2021 reserve champions through to 2021 All-Ireland champions.

Since our first league success in 1976, we have enjoyed numerous league and championship successes at all levels, male and female. However, the very participation of each player who dons the Drumragh jersey, and each member who contributes in any way, share together in our journey beneath the old oak tree.

An Uachtarán na hÉireann Michael D. Higgins marvelled at the facilities which have been created at Clanabogan Park, a source of pride and inspiration for members young and old.

And in this Golden Jubilee, it is important that every member pays respect to and remembers our deceased family and friends. It was they who carried us through 50 years, from Bradley’s Holm to St Patrick’s Park to Clanabogan Park. Go ndéana Dia trócaire orthu.

In conclusion, a warm and special welcome is extended to our 527 members, adult and youth, to share in their belonging of Clanabogan Park.

The fantastic work continues, on and off the field of play.

Do come along and be part of it.

Mile buiochas.
