Drumragh reserves beat Donaghmore in the league at Clanabogan Park on Friday

DRUMRAGH……….1-15
DONAGHMORE…….2-2

Drumragh reserves made it two wins from two games on Friday evening with a 10-point victory over Donaghmore at Clanabogan Park.

Drumragh led 0-6 to 0-0 at half-time. Alex McGlinchey opened the scoring with a point after Gareth Haughey and Tommy Mullin had created the chance. Donaghmore had a lot of the ball over the next 10 minutes but weren’t able to register on the scoreboard, with Drumragh goalkeeper Charlie Colton making a good save in this period. The entire backline stood up too with the full-back line of Blaine Feeney, Mark Carroll and Micheal Mullin prominent in the defensive effort.

Tommy Mullin doubled Drumragh’s lead, Alex McGlinchey added another score before Paddy Roche gathered a long ball in, turned his marker and punched the ball over the bar.

Another point arrived via Tommy Mullin while Ben Monk concluded the scoring in the first half with a super score after good play from Ryan McGuigan, Jude Campbell and Oisin Conroy.

Drumragh continued in the same fashion at the resumption with a strong run from Matthew Kerlin setting up fellow substitute Malachy McManus for a point.

Brendan McGrath finished off a end-to-end team move with a fine score and Matthew Kerlin increased the lead with a point.

Drumragh were still defending well with Blaine Feeney, Eamonn Kerrigan and Brendan McGrath breaking up a number of attacks from the away side. Donaghmore did though get on the scoreboard with a free but Drumragh responded with, first, a Malachy McManus point, and then Ben Monk reacted quickest to finish to the back of the net after Paddy Roche’s initial shot had been saved by the Donaghmore goalkeeper.

Malachy McManus, Tommy Mullin and Matthew Kerlin added points from distance as the game headed towards its finish.

Donaghmore got in for 2-1 in quick succession but Drumragh finished the game strongly and Andy Colgan fired over a terrific point with the outside of his right foot, while Malachy McManus was also on target as Drumragh continued their winning start to the season.
