Drumragh U16 girls beat Beragh at Clanabogan on Sunday
Drumragh U16s girls came out on top against Beragh following a brilliant game between the two sides at Clanabogan Park on Sunday afternoon
A high-scoring first half saw Beragh lead by two points at half-time. Rihanna Barrett, Jemma Barrett and Caoimhe McCarron all found the back of the net for Drumragh in the opening 30 minutes, the goals coming on the back of good play from Rihanna Mullin, Cora Walsh and Mairead Corrigan.
Caoimhe McCarron, Dana Coyle and Rihanna Barrett were also on target with points. The game was end-to-end throughout the first half. Drumragh goalkeeper Chloe McGale made a couple of good saves, Lily O’Kane, Genevieve Norris and Oonagh Pancott performed well in the full-back line while Caoimhe McCarron, Rihanna Barrett and Rihanna Mullin impressed up front.
Beragh got off to the stronger start in the second half and increased their lead. But Drumragh refused to give in and got to work to getting back into the game.
Midfielders Mia Feeney and Mairead Corrigan provided the platform for this by winning plenty of ball around the middle of the field while defenders Fionnuala Clarke, Grace McCusker and Cara Kerlin were able to get up and support the attack to good effect.
Rihanna Barrett (2), Caoimhe McCarron and Emma McCloskey all scored goals while Emma, Dana Coyle and Rihanna Mullin all added quality points.
It was a brilliant performance from Drumragh with each member of the starting 15, along with every sub, contributing to what was the team’s fourth consecutive win.
