It was an absolutely fantastic and historic weekend for all members of Drumragh. From the launch at Clanabogan through to our arrival at Croke Park, The Great Todds Leap Solo Run provided many unforgettable memories – such as meeting Gaddafi in Ardee. A huge thanks and well done to everyone involved but especially to Gerry McGurgan and his organising committee. Also to Benny O’Hanlon, Todds Leap and the Harte and McAreavey families. Good luck to the reserves who play Fintona in the Championship away on Monday at 7pm. Both the seniors and reserves play Brackaville away in the League on Saturday. The reserves play at 4pm and the seniors start at 5.30pm. Youth training resumes on Saturday at Clanabogan at 10.30am to 12noon. Well done to the U10s who continued their fine form with great performances in recent blitzes in Enniskillen and Omagh. They have another blitz in Dromore on Saturday with the bus leaving Clanabogan at 9.30am. Please bring £2 for the bus. The U13s play Aghaloo in Clanabogan at 11am on Saturday morning. The Drumragh 10k run/5k fun run/walk takes place on Saturday September 24. You can now register online via www.niathletics.org or by downloading a form from the Drumragh website and posting it or by returning the form to any club office holder. A five-week pre-race training programme will continue on Tuesdays at Clanabogan at 6.45pm for runners of all levels led by fitness coach Ryan Cunningham. Gaelic4Mothers training continues tonight (Thursday) from 8pm to 9pm. The club will be hosting a regional Gaelic4Mothers blitz on Sunday. Anyone free to help should contact Anne Donaghey on 07725258935. The national Gaelic4Mothers blitz is taking place on October 15. There will be Gaelic4Mothers quiz in the Clanabogan Country Club on Friday September 30. This week’s winning Club Drumragh lotto letters were I J L M W. There was no jackpot winner but the five £10 winners were Mary Loughran, Lawrence Loughran, Dominic Keenan, Barbara McDonagh and Darragh Keys. Next week’s jackpot will be £2,850 and the draw will be held in Sallys.
LADIES NOTES
Congratulations to the Club on the successful Great Solo Run that took place at the weekend. A memorable occasion for young and old. Our senior ladies were defeated in the League semi-final on last Thursday. This concludes the senior football for 2011. Thanks goes to their manager Gavin Quinn and all the squad. On reflection this has been a very good season for this young senior side and we wish them well for 2012. The next two U16 League games are home fixtures tomorrow (Friday) at 6.30pm and Monday at 7pm. Please be at pitch at 6pm sharp. The U12s have a friendly this Saturday at 11am in Clanabogan. Youth training continues as usual from 10.30am to 11.30am on Saturday. Free pre-race training programme for 10k/5k continues on Tuesdays at Clanabogan at 6.45pm for runners of all levels led by fitness coach Ryan Cunningham.
