Under 14’s Qualify For Feile Finals
Our Under 14 Boys qualified for the Semi Finals of the Feile on Saturday after coming through their group stage unbeaten. The Boys travelled to Galbally and played three games against Rock, Galbally and Killeeshil.

Drumragh 5-6, Rock 2-2

The Sarsfields faced Rock in their first game of the morning. It was Drumragh that made the better start to the game with scores from Aaron Lynch and Blaine Feeney putting them ahead on the scoreboard, both scores the result of good support play from Matthew O’Donnell and Hugh McKenna. Good defending from Sean O’Kane, Brendan Quinn and Lorcan McGrath restricted many of Rock’s scoring opportunities while Goalkeeper Sean O’Doherty made a good save after a dangerous Rock attack. Cormac Dolan hit the back of the Rock net at the start of the second half following good play from Ben Monk and Cormac McCann. Rock responded with two goals and a point in quick succession however Drumragh kept their heads and responded when both Blaine Feeney and Ryan Montgomery cooly struck for goal minutes later.

Drumragh 3-5, Galbally 1-4

Drumragh’s next game against host’s Galbally was certainly the game of the morning as both teams put in strong performances in their bids to progress further in the competition. The home side took an early lead as they struck for goal after a few minutes. The Sarsfields worked hard to gain possession against skilful opposition with good defending from Conor Barrett, Blaine Feeney and Carraig McKenna turning over many of Galbally’s advances. Drumragh took the lead in the second half with well taken goals from Cormac Dolan and Aaron Lynch and points from Kian Murphy, Niall Maguire and Eoin Coyle. Niall McCarney, Dara Barrett and Oisin Kerlin among others worked hard to create further chances while goalkeeper Ryan McCrystal made a couple of good saves to ensure the win.

Drumragh 5-6, Killeeshil 2-4

The final game of the morning was against Killeeshil and once again Drumragh were tested by a determined opposition. Drumragh took an early lead with scores from Kian Murphy, Niall Maguire and Aaron Lynch. Killeeshil were able to close the gap with scores of their own however solid defence performances from Cormac McCann, Brendan Quinn and Carraig McKenna kept the Killeeshil forwards mostly in check. Drumragh saw out the game well with Gearalt Duncan, Cahir McAnenly and Sean O’Doherty all combining to create further scoring opportunities.
