Kildress……..2-14
Drumragh…….1-6
Drumragh seniors were knocked out of the Ulster Junior Club League at the last eight stage by Kildress on Sunday.
The hosts won the coin toss and that meant they were playing with the benefit of a very strong wind in the opening 30 minutes. And they took full advantage of that, building up a 1-10 to 0-2 lead at half-time.
Drumragh’s only two scores in that period were two Shane Cleary frees.
Any hopes of a comeback were soon ended when Kildress scored their second goal not long after the restart.
Drumragh kept battling though. Shane converted another free he earned himself and he then sent the goalkeeper the wrong way from the penalty spot after he was once again fouled.
Cormac Norris, Shane Devine and Ronan Maguire all scored fine points from play but Drumragh could not get close enough to leave the outcome in any doubt and it was Kildress who progressed to the semi-finals.
