Drumragh………………….0-9
Dromore………………….2-14
Drumragh minor boys were beaten by Dromore in the league at Clanabogan on Tuesday evening.
Drumragh played well here and perhaps could have been a bit closer come the final whistle.
The away side got the game’s opening two scores but Drumragh got on the board through Stephen Coyle who pointed well after good play from Niall McCarney and Oran McElroy in the full-forward line.
Dromore responded with a point despite a good initial save from Paul Devine in the Drumragh goals and soon added three further scores.
Alex McGlinchey set Niall McCarney up for a nice point from play before Niall converted a free following a foul on Ben Monk.
But Dromore then took a grip of the game scoring 1-4 in a short scoring burst. It took strong defending from the Drumragh full-back line of Oran Devlin, Mark Armstrong and Patrick Stewart to stop Dromore from stretching out their lead even further during this time.
Frees from Oran McElroy and Niall McCarney concluded the scoring in the first half and Dromore held an eight-point lead at the break.
The teams went score-for-score at the start of the second half. Oran McElroy, Niall McCarney and Ben Monk were all on target for Drumragh, each effort a good score from play.
Dromore got their second goal and kicked another couple of points with Niall McCarney answering back with a free before the final whistle.
