Drumragh senior men played Strabane in their opening league game on Tuesday evening

DRUMRAGH……….0-5
STRABANE……….0-11

Drumragh senior men had their first league game of the year on Tuesday evening, at home in Clanabogan Park against a strong Strabane side.

Strabane took control early on in the game and hit four unanswered points in the first quarter. Drumragh steadied themselves and Tommy Mullin won a free which he converted from the 21m line. The men worked hard up front to create space and chances with Jude Campbell, Dan O’Neill and Kian Murphy prominent.

Strabane replied with another three points until Ronan Maguire hit Drumragh’s second score in the 26th minute. The Drumragh defence worked hard in the first half and forced wides from the Strabane side. The first half finished on a scoreline of 0-7 to 0-2 in favour of the visitors.

Drumragh started strong in the second half with a well worked goal opportunity in the second minute for Ronan Maguire. This was cleared well by the Strabane defence as they then went on the attack. A turnover was forced and Malachy McManus was then fouled. The long range free was taken by Tommy Murphy but was secured by the visitors to clear any danger. A brace of points from frees for Daniel O’Neill brought the final score to 0-11 to 0-5 for the visitors.
