My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has lost a family member or friend, and to those who are presently in poor health or recovering from surgery. May God give you strength. Amen.
I wish to thank the Executive Committee and all the sub-committees for your continued promotion of Gaelic football and culture within our community. Our current committee met 10 times over the past 12 months. It was great to see the establishment of an adult football subcommittee. This sub committee will be responsible for dealing with football issues relating to both men’s and ladies senior teams. They have been hard at work and have recently appointed the 2023 adult senior manager, Colm Bradley. We wish him the best in the coming
season. I know work is on going in respect of appointing the ladies manager through this newly formed committee.
Our club has great volunteers. No job is too big or too small. It is impossible to thank everyone individually, but the work that is done by the field and grounds committee is second to none. They have shaped Clanabogan Park into a hub of the community.
Thanks are extended to all our coaches and players. The hours spent practicing and honing the skills of the youth will result in future success. This year we saw AB present a coaching of our coaches workshop, it is
vitally important that our coaches and our players are retained, developed and improved. We cannot stand still and we must constantly strive to improve.
I wish to thank our club referees, Brendan Feeney and Fabe McGlone.
Congratulations to all our members who represented our Club at County, College and Schools levels, may it be in a playing or administrative capacity.
I would like to thank our sponsors and funders that have supported us throughout the year, as well as those who have subscribed to Club Drumragh and have partaken in our lotto and fundraisers. Without their external support, we would not have been able to provide the standards and facilities that we at Drumragh pride ourselves on.
Finally, for your consideration this evening. Our current committee has 29 members. Each year nominations for the general committee out weigh the numbers resigning from it. Our sub committees are smaller and much more efficient. I would propose a restructuring of the committee to the same as endorsed by other clubs, and the GAA. This would result in each section of the club, and each sub committee being represented at the main committee by one person who they choose to be their chairperson. This is hoped to allow for a more focused and efficient
committee.
