DRUMRAGH…………….1-7

A late point from Martin Taggart secured Drumragh reserves their first win of the year away to Donaghmore on Friday evening. They recovered well from conceding a late equalising goal to score that late winner.

Drumragh built up a six-point lead in the early stages. Conor Kelly won the ball in front of his marker before popping it over the bar for the game’s first score. Martin Taggart then kicked a couple of frees before finishing past the Donaghmore goalkeeper for a goal.

Donaghmore got on the scoreboard with a 45 and added three points before half-time leaving Drumragh with a two-point lead at half-time.

The teams swapped points – Martin Taggart with a free and Cahir McAnenly from play – in the opening stages of the second half.

Donaghmore had a lot of possession, but Drumragh defended superbly with Lee Brown, Oran Devlin and Eoin McGread leading the way.

Martin Taggart stretched the lead out to three with a free, but Donaghmore drew level with a goal as the game entered injury time.

But Drumragh showed determination and fight to get the ball into scoring position, with Martin Taggart getting a brilliant late point to seal the win.
