A skillful pick-up from Dara Cox created a goalscoring opportunity for himself, and he made no mistake with a good finish. Frankie Monk won the ball from a kickout, passed inside to Dylan Lowry who scored his second goal of the game.
A quick hand-passing move involving Conor Fyffe, Turlough Collins and Ryan Baxter led to another Dara Cox score, while Conor Gormley converted a free after hard work and pressure from the forward line created a turnover.
Drumquin added two points before the half-time whistle, but it was an excellent defensive performance from the Drumragh defence in the first half with Matthew Barrett, Shea Mullin and Ronan Bresnahan making it tough for the Drumquin forward line. Matthew O’Doherty in the Drumragh goal also dealt well with a few high ball into the square.
Ryan Baxter opened the scoring in the second half, to which Drumquin answered back with an excellent point of their own.
Turlough Collins won the ball at midfield, drove through the Drumquin defence and fired over a brilliant point, while Ryan Baxter then increased Drumragh’s after Conor Fyffe set him up.
Drumquin scored a point, but Ryan Baxter responded for Drumragh, with good play from James Fyffe allowing Aidan McCarney to score.
Drumragh introduced a number of subs and they all had a positive impact on the game, as it neared its end. Connor McLaughlin and Conor Fyffe were attacking well from half-back and from one of those attacks, Conor Gormley sent the ball over the bar with his left foot.
The home side hit three points in-a-row, but Drumragh finished the game on the front foot with a goal from Conor Gormley and a point from Connor McLaughlin.
