Senior men record win in league against Killyman

Drumragh senior men got back to winning ways in the league away to Killyman last Friday night.

DRUMRAGH……….3-11
KILLYMAN…………….1-3

Drumragh led throughout and early scores from Malachy McManus, Ronan Maguire and Tommy Murphy had put them in front. The away side needed goalkeeper James Colgan to make a fantastic save to protect that lead midway through the half.

Killyman did get on the board soon after, but further points from Barry Fitzgerald, Eoin Montgomery and Tommy Murphy saw Drumragh establish a five-point lead at the break.

Drumragh got off to a brilliant start to the second half. Ronan Maguire took possession of the ball and ran at the Killyman defence. He then laid the ball off to Kian Murphy who fired to the back of the net. Goal number two came not long after. Eoin Montgomery took the ball past a couple of defenders and his brilliant no-look pass allowed Gareth McGrath to palm the ball past the goalkeeper.

Killyman kicked a point, but Kevin Marron responded for Drumragh with a great effort from play. Niall McCarney also converted a free.

The home side hit 1-1 in quick succession but Drumragh finished the game on the front foot to secure the win. Ronan Maguire scored a goal after a strong run through the Killyman defence while Martin Taggart, Malachy McManus and Eoin Montgomery were all on target with points.
