Drumragh……….2-10 | Cookstown……….1-7

Drumragh senior men are into the Connollys Of Moy Tyrone Junior Football Championship final.

And deservedly so, after they beat Cookstown in the semi-final in Healy Park on Friday night.

Drumragh got off to a brilliant start, and were four points to no score up after a couple of minutes. Tommy Murphy hit two great scores, while Malachy McManus and Niall McCarney were also on target with fantastic efforts from play.

Cookstown opened their account, but Drumragh responded with a goal through Niall McCarney. Further points from Shane Cleary and Tommy Murphy meant Drumragh had a six-point lead at half-time.

Cookstown started the second half on the front foot and quickly reduced the Drumragh lead to a single score.

The teams swapped scores with Sean McGale and Ronan Maguire sending the ball over the bar for Drumragh.

The Drumragh defence didn’t allow Cookstown to register another score, and as the game entered injury time, Daniel O’Neill made sure of the result with a fantastic goal after a strong run. Kevin Marron added a free, with the referee blowing the final whistle not long after, confirming Drumragh’s place in the final for the first time since 2020.
