Drumragh senior men beat Drumquin in the promotion play-offs on Saturday.
A couple of early goals from Benny Drumm and Ronan Maguire laid the foundation for the win. Niall McCarney also converted a couple of frees during the first half, and kicked an excellent score from play after Malachy McManus had set him up.
The home side came back into the game, with a number of points, and a goal. But a brilliant point from Ben Monk just before the half-time whistle gave Drumragh a two-point lead at the break.
Drumquin opened the scoring in the second half with a 45, but Malachy McManus responded for Drumragh with a good score from play, while Daniel O’Neill quickly added a point.
Drumragh then really took control of the contest when Andy Colgan sent Daniel O’Neill through on goal, who finished confidently past the Drumquin goalkeeper. Eoin Montgomery then stretched out the lead with a free after he was fouled.
Drumquin hit three scores on-the-bounce, but Drumragh finished the game strongly to make sure of the win. Barry Fitzgerald teed up Oran Devlin for a left-footed point, Ronan Maguire sent the ball over the bar, and Martin Taggart had the final say in the game when he took and converted a mark.
