Drumragh had trailed to Killeeshil by six points in the second half, but a brilliant late comeback was enough for Drumragh to win by a single point in Galbally.
The teams swapped early points with Aaron Montgomery and Niall McCarney responsible for Drumragh’s scores.
Killeeshil hit the front again with a goal, and while Eoin Montgomery answered back with a mark, they quickly added a second goal to increase their lead.
Alex McGlinchey sent the ball over the bar before half-time, but Killeeshil held a five-point lead at the break.
Killeeshil opened the scoring in the second half, but Drumragh came roaring back into the game. Eoin Montgomery converted a free before Daniel O’Neill scored a brilliant goal. Tommy Murphy followed that up with a good point, leaving it a one-point game.
Killeeshil kicked a point, but a goal from Tommy Murphy put Drumragh ahead approaching full-time. Killeeshil, though, quickly brought the teams level once again.
All that made for a tense and exciting end to the game. Both teams had chances, but things looked set for extra-time. Until Barry Fitzgerald stepped up. His point won the game and secured promotion, setting off brilliant celebrations.
