A brilliant display powered Drumragh U14 boys to a win over Clonoe at Clanabogan Park on Thursday evening.
It was the visitors who opened the scoring with a point, but from there, Drumragh went on to play some excellent football. James Gallagher brought the teams level with a fantastic point, Ollie Hagan hit a goal after an unselfish pass from Lorcan Starrs, Matt Gallagher converted a free and then added a point from play following good play from Arthur Barrett and Cahir Keyes.
Drumragh continued to impress and build up their lead. Matt Gallagher sent a free over the bar, Conor Fyffe scored from distance, while strong play from Peter McGuigan, James Gallagher and Cahir Keys led to another Ollie Hagan goal. A good team move resulted in an Eamon Barrett point, while Lorcan Starrs added a goal and a point in quick succession.
Conor Fyffe won a kickout and floated over a wonderful score off the outside of his right foot, Matt Gallagher scored a free, and then tuned provider for James Gallagher after taking a midfield mark. Clonoe were on target again with a point and then a goal, but further points from Lorcan Starrs, Conor Fyffe and Matt Gallagher completed an excellent opening 30 minutes from Drumragh.
It was really a great all-round team performance from Drumragh. Tom Barrett led the defensive effort from full-back, and was ably assisted by Mark Walsh and Peter McGuigan. Conor Murray, Oisin Walsh and Che Corry were involved in many of Drumragh’s best moves, and all three had a hand in a number of scores.
The second half got underway and Drumragh were soon on the scorebaord again through Lorcan Starrs. Matt Gallagher scored another free before Ollie Hagan completed his hat-trick after good build-up play from James Gallagher, Eamon Barrett and Cahir Keys.

Clonoe were a threat going forward and forced Drumragh goalkeeper Cayal Cafferkey into a couple of brilliant saves. They did manage to close the gap throughout the second half despite strong defence from Oisin Walsh, Fergal Pearson and Arthur Barrett.
But with the help of substitutes, Drumragh finished the game on the front foot. Matt Gallagher and Ollie Hagan were on target while James Green set up Lorcan Starrs for the last score of the game.
