CLOGHER……….1-17 | DRUMRAGH……….1-11
Drumragh senior men lost to Clogher in the league on Sunday afternoon.
The home side made a good start to the game and established a lead with a number of early points, one of which could have been a goal only for Drumragh goalkeeper Sean O’Doherty to brilliantly tip the ball over the bar.
Drumragh got on the scoreboard through Tommy Murphy, who pointed following good play from Paddy Colgan, Oran Devlin and Sean McGale. Barry Fitzgerald added another when he was set up by Ronan Maguire. but Clogher managed to increase their lead by half-time.
Drumragh came out determined in the second half with Eoin Montgomery, Niall McCarney and Malachy McManus winning more possession around midfield and driving forward. Good pressure from the forward line allowed Eoin Montgomery to kick a free, while Alex McGlinchey added a nice score from play shortly after.
Clogher hit back with a goal, but the Drumragh full-back line of Alex McGlinchey, Eamonn Kerrigan and Eoin McGread managed to stop a number of dangerous attacks. And from that platform, Drumragh got the next three scores. Kian Murphy took and converted a mark, Gareth Haughey was on target following a good team move, while Eoin Montgomery tagged on another free.
The home side added to their tally, but Martin Taggart scored a good point, before Eoin Montgomery added two points, one from a placed ball, and another a wonderful effort from distance.
Drumragh were awarded a penalty after James Broderick was fouled, which Tommy Murphy confidently converted, and Kian Murphy sent the ball between the posts from the left hand side. However, Clogher added a couple of points to make sure of the win.
