Drumragh started the brighter today in their first league game against Moy in Clanabogan Park. Early scores from Eamon Barrett and Lorcan Starrs put them in front. With Ferghal Pearsons kickouts proving accurate and Peter McGuigan working hard in defence, they were able to keep Moy at bay, and with further scores from Aaron O’Doherty and Eamon Barrett Drumragh ended the half 3 points up.
Moy came out a much improved team in the 2nd half, scoring a number of unanswered goals and points in a strong spell, leaving them 12 points up with 15 minutes left to play. Drumragh dug deep, however, and got right back into the game with Ronan Barton, Arthur Barrett & Conor Murray linking well in defence, and Cayal Cafferkey getting on top in midfield. Scores from Aaron O’Doherty, Eamon Barrett, Lorcan Starrs, Lorcan McDevitt, and a Daire Colton finish into the top corner left it a one score game with time running out. Moy were able to rally and close the game out, finishing an exciting game as 4 point winners.
Final Score
Drumragh 7-13
Moy 10-8
