Drumragh fell to another defeat today despite a spirited performance against a strong Killeeshil side.
The opening quarter was very tight, Drumragh controlling possession but unable to penetrate a resilient Killeeshil defence. Scores from Eamon Barrett, Daire Colton, and Eoin Clarke keeping Drumragh in touch. Killeeshil were able to pull away in the 2nd quarter and ended the half 12 points up, Drumragh missing a few good goal chances at the other end. A much improved defensive performance in the 2nd half was the platform for Drumragh to kick on and get back into the game, Cahir Keyes, Cahir Pancott and Peter McGuigan prominent in defence with Ruairi Doherty assured in goals. With Lorcan Starrs working hard in midfield and Arthur Barrett linking up well in the half forward line, Drumragh were able to score a number of goals through Lorcan Starrs and Eamon Barrett. Time was against us, unfortunately, and Killeeshil ended up 8 point winners.
MOTMs – Cahir Pancott, on his first competitive game for Drumragh, for his tenacious performance in corner back and Lorcan Starrs who capped off a fine individual display scoring 3-3 in the 2nd half.
Best wishes for speedy recovery to our co-captain Cayal McCafferky, following an injury last week.
