Drumragh U16 girls lost out to Moy in the league at Clanabogan last Tuesday.

Both sides had their chances early on. Drumragh created a number of opportunities off good play from Caitlin McCarron, Roisin Gormley and Eabha Coyle. At the other end of the pitch, the full-back line of Anna Clarke, Oonagh Pancott and Roise McDevitt all started the game superbly, stopping various Moy attacks.

The visitors did go in the lead with a few scores. But Drumragh continued to push forward, and with wing backs Keira McGuigan and Katie McCann, along with midfielder Dearbhaille McLaughlin, getting up the field to support the attack, Drumragh were unlucky not to have more on the scoreboard.

The highlight of the first half was three incredible saves from Drumragh goalkeeper Emelia Lowry, each one better than the last.

Moy increased their lead at the start of the second half, but Drumragh soon began to come more into the game. That started with a fantastic team goal. Niamh Colton started the move winning the ball back in defence. Olivia Kelly, Caitlin McCarron and Mollie Starrs carried it upfield, eventually to Dana Coyle who fired low past the goalkeeper.

Moy responded with a free, but Drumragh went up the field to score goal number two. Jennifer Barrett did well to win a long ball in, and took the ball directly to goal. Jennifer was fouled, but from the free kick that followed, Rihanna Mullin picked out the top corner expertly for a wonderful finish. Roisin Gormley and Mollie Starrs then combined to put Dana Coyle through on goal, who got her second goal of the game.

The away side responded well and managed to stretch out their lead with a few scores. With a number of subs introduced, Drumragh kept going to the final whistle, however, with Dana Coyle kicking a couple of points, one from play and another from a free.
