Drumragh minor ladies came up short against an impressive Sperrin Og side in their first league game at Clanabogan on Monday evening.
Drumragh battled hard throughout and it was only in the last five minutes that Sperrin Og made sure of the win.
They made a quick start to the game and were soon three points to no score up. But Emma-Cait Gallagher brought the teams level with a goal, a good finish after she was set up by Caoimhe McCarron.
Sperrin Og retook the lead and extended it with a well-taken goal.
Caoimhe McCarron responded for Drumragh with a point after a nice exchange of passes between herself and Sorcha McKenna. Sorcha then added a free and a point from play and a further score from Saoirse Mullin left the half-time score 1-8 to 1-4 in favour of Sperrin Og.

Drumragh got off to the perfect start to the second half with a brilliant goal from Saoirse Mullin. Having won the ball from the throw-in, she drove through the Sperrin Og defence and confidently finished to the back of the net.
However, Sperrin Og replied with a goal of their own not long after despite a stunning initial save from Drumragh goalkeeper Orla Loughran. They went on to score 1-3, but a goal each from Sorcha McKenna, after a great pass from Caoimhe McCarron, and substitute Cassie McCabe brought Drumragh back to within a few points.
However, Sperrin Og finished the game strongly adding a couple more goals.
Caoimhe McCarron converted an injury time penalty after a foul on Ella Smyth leaving the final score 5-14 to 5-4.
