Drumragh……………….8-15

Drumragh U14 boys made it two wins from two with an outstanding victory over Strabane on Saturday morning.

This was a fantastic team display by Drumragh, from goalkeeper Sean O’Doherty, who made a number of brilliant saves during the game, right through to the forward line that kicked some great scores throughout the hour.

Ryan Montgomery got Drumragh on their way with the game’s first score from a free after his midfield partner Turlough Collins was fouled. Strabane answered that with a goal but points from Fionn Collins and Conor Barrett had the sides level again.

A penalty from Niall Maguire, awarded after Aidan McCarney was fouled, put Drumragh back in front, a lead that they were never to lose.

Fionn Collins added a point and then a goal which came at the end of a flowing team move involving Lorcan McGrath, Niall Maguire and Carraig McKenna.

The Drumragh defence were playing really well with Conor Gormley and Ryan Baxter prominent. Drumragh were able to build on that with a strong spell just before half-time. Ryan Montgomery scored again, a nice point from play, as did Niall Maguire, while Conor Barrett added 1-2 leaving Drumragh with a 3-8 to 1-3 lead at the break.
