Drumragh U14 girls lost to Castlderg last Saturday

Drumragh U14 girls lost out to Castlederg in the league at Clanabogan last Saturday.

Castlederg made a strong start to the game and built up an early lead. Drumragh scored a fantastic goal though thanks to a great finish from Rihanna Mullin. That came at the end of a good team move involving Coblaith Murphy, Grace McCusker and Fionnuala Barrett.

A brave block from Mia Feeney denied Castlederg from scoring another goal while the full-back line of Fianna McGuigan, Fionnuala Clarke and Oonagh Pancott came up with some big plays.

At the other end of the pitch Sadhbh Duncan forced the Castlederg goalkeeper into a good save while Rihanna Mullin and Dana Coyle were denied by the away defence after good play. However, Rihanna did, not long after, add a brilliant point from play after a turnover from Mia Feeney in the Drumragh half-back line.

Castlederg did stretch out their lead and would have led by more only for strong play from Fianna McGuigan, Nora McCluskey and Cara Kerlin.

Lily O’Kane kicked a free at the start of the second half after she was fouled while Tammy Donnell, Genevieve Norris and Dana Coyle all went close to adding to Drumragh’s goal tally.

Castederg kept the pressure on and added a number of scores before the final whistle.
